Growing up

I started working at age eleven walking neighborhood dogs and house sitting for my neighbors as they would go away on vacations.  I remember going down to one house five times a day because the dog was sick and needed a lot of attention.  If I had more than one dog to take care of at a time, I would coordinate with their different schedules to make sure all walks and feedings happened at the right times in the most efficient way possible.

The earning from this job and my job at Hawaiian Falls as a cashier allowed me to save enough money to put a down payment on my first car and buy my college laptop.  My parents are the ones who encouraged me to work hard even from a young age, along with the admonition to always trust in God with my future plans.  I spent hundreds of hours studying in high school to make good grades and qualify for the President's Gold Scholarship, which made my attending Baylor University possible financially.  My mom especially would always push me to perform to my absolute greatest ability in everything.  If I ever wanted to give up, she was right there letting me know that was not an option!  I am so thankful for the people in my life who believed in me and for the opportunity to go to such an amazing Christian school in my hometown.
